In November 2022, the Scottish Health Survey (2021) published findings that 67% of adults living in Scotland are overweight (2/3 of the adult population), and 30% are obese (almost 1/3 of the adult population). As nutrition is an important contributor to achieving and maintaining a healthy body weight, it is deeply concerning that the dieting world is loaded with confusing and contradicting information.
