Pregnancy & Postpartum

Participation in physical activity during pregnancy elicits a number of health benefits, including reduced risk of excessive gestational weight gain, reduced risk of conditions such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, preterm birth, varicose veins and deep vein thrombosis. From a psychological perspective benefits include reduced levels of fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression and improved well-being. There is also some evidence that physical activity during pregnancy is associated with a reduced length of labour and delivery complications.

If you become pregnant whilst training with us at Aristos Fitness, please contact one of the Coaches as soon as possible to inform them of your wonderful news so that we can continue to guide you safely through your training.

We also have two Postpartum programs which guide members safely back into training during the Postpartum period. The first program can be commenced at home in the acute stage of recovery and focuses initially on pelvic floor rehab, breathing and core work. Both programs continue to safely develop whole body strength and re-introduce a variety of movements prior to re-integrating with our class program. Our programs are all available for members to download on this page, for which you will require a password from one of the coaches.
