Kirsty is passionate about helping people find health and happiness amongst busy family and career commitments. Here is Kirsty’s health and fitness story…
“As a child and teenager, activity and fitness meant playing sport.
As I entered my twenties and found myself in a desk job, I found myself religiously hitting the gym in a desperate attempt to retain some degree of fitness and body confidence. I attended fitness classes - anything from body pump and body attack; to Zumba and step aerobics; to body balance and yoga. On some days I would spend several hours rotating around CV and resistance machines; but with very little purpose and without results.
However, this changed almost overnight when I found CrossFit.
I almost instantly fell in love with the process – of having goals to work towards, a community with purpose, and coaches who cared. And I quickly began to see muscle definition I had never experienced in all my years of sport and training.
In 2015, my husband, Robbie, and I opened the doors of our very own gym – Aristos Fitness (then CrossFit Stewarton). We were so excited to help other people find a love of training, and support them to experience similar transformations in mind and body.
However, our eyes were very quickly opened to the vast range of motives which led people to seek health and fitness coaching; to the needs of each individual; to the physical and mental benefits of not just training, but of exercise, both within and out-with the gym. Perhaps most importantly, of having someone to listen to you; to support you.
We became aware of the help required for those returning from injury. Or still in pain.
For women trying to stay fit and healthy throughout their pregnancy; or looking to regain function postpartum. Or trying to lead a healthy, happy life throughout the menopause.
For those caught in the endless yoyo of weight loss.
We began to realise that fitness means something different to everyone; and that it changes for each individual depending upon life demands.
My training now, as a mum, wife, daughter, business owner, coach and friend; looks very different to that in my twenties. However, my love of strength training is as strong as ever; and I now have a much better understanding of the numerous aspects which contribute to my overall happiness, fitness, health and wellbeing.
I love the multidimensional and amazing team that makes Aristos what it is today. I love seeing the small changes day to day in our clients and members. And I love having time each day to spend with those who mean the most to me.”
