Ellis Graham

Exercise Rehab Practitioner

Ellis is one of our Exercise-Based Rehabilitation Coaches and is passionate about helping people feel stronger, more confident and more capable in the activities that matter to them.

Ellis is a BASRaT-registered Sport Rehabilitator and qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation from Queen Margaret University and an HND in Sports Therapy from City of Glasgow College, through which he also developed his sports massage skills.

He particularly enjoys working with older adults, people living with long-term health conditions, individuals recovering from injury, and those who want to improve their strength and fitness but may feel inexperienced or unsure where to begin. He can also support people who want to continue training whilst injured but need help understanding what they can safely do and how to adapt their exercise.

Here is Ellis’s health and fitness story...

“Sport and exercise have always played an important role in my life. From a young age, I enjoyed playing tennis, football and basketball, and this eventually led me towards a career in rehabilitation.

I believe rehabilitation should involve more than simply reducing pain or being given a short list of exercises. It should help you understand your injury, rebuild confidence in your body and prepare you for the activities you want and need to do.

I enjoy working with people at all stages of their journey. This may involve helping someone return to exercise after an injury, supporting a person through longer-term rehabilitation, adapting gym training around an ongoing problem, or helping someone new to exercise become fitter and stronger.

Strength training is an important part of my approach because I believe it can benefit people of all ages and experience levels. When it is adapted appropriately, it can help people remain active, maintain their independence and feel more capable in everyday life.

Education is also a key part of how I work. I want clients to understand their injury, why they are completing certain exercises and what they can do to support their own progress. My aim is not simply to tell someone what to do, but to give them the knowledge and confidence to take a more active role in their health and rehabilitation.

I understand that starting exercise or returning after an injury can feel intimidating. My role is to listen to what matters to you, meet you at your current starting point and provide the right balance of support, reassurance and challenge.

Ultimately, I want to help you keep moving, continue training where possible and build the strength and confidence to get back to doing the things that are important to you.”
